Grimdark Hobbies After Dark is run by Grimdark Hobbies, LLC, a small shop in Wisconsin. We want everyone to be able to browse our kits, pick their options and check out without hitting a wall. This page covers what we do, where we know we fall short, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our goal
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We have not had a formal third-party audit, so we don't claim full conformance. We test changes ourselves and fix problems as we find them.
What we've done so far
- High-contrast light text on a dark background across the store, with pink kept for prices and buy buttons only.
- Descriptive alt text on product images, added to new listings as they go up.
- Product options (scale, upper and lower sculpt) shown as labeled buttons you can reach and select with a keyboard.
- A site layout that works at phone widths and when zoomed in.
- Checkout handled by Shopify, which maintains its own accessibility program for the checkout pages.
Known limitations
- The age check that appears when you first visit needs JavaScript turned on.
- Some older listings still have short or generic image descriptions. We're working through them.
- Most of our products are shown as 3D renders. If you need a description of a sculpt, its poses or its options, email us and we'll write one up.
- Some figures have long option lists, which can take a while to move through with a screen reader.
